Bioethical approaches in Biology Teaching: a case study in high school

Resumo: | The approach of bioethics in the classroom opens new horizons for the perception of moral and ethical responsibilities, through the context of social and scientific standards. This study investigated the level of understanding of students in the 3rd grade of high school about the different concepts of Bioethics. The qualitative study had the methodology of applying questionnaires and conducting a workshop on "Bioethics and its approach to teaching Biology". A divergence of opinions were observed in the approximation between bioethics and basic education among students, some with well-defined views on ethical problematizations in science, others with conceptual distortions that hinder the learning process in science teaching and scientific education. It is believed that the inclusion of themes for ethical reflections and / or bioethical in teaching practices still in high school contribute to the construction of scientific and technological know how for the formation of critical and participating citizens, as are through them that students are taught to give their opinion, to position themselves and argue with awareness and criticality. |

Este estudo investigou o nível de compreensão de alunos da 3ª série do ensino médio sobre os diversos conceitos de Bioética. O estudo de natureza qualitativa teve como metodologia a aplicação de questionários e a realização de uma oficina sobre “Bioética e sua abordagem no ensino de Biologia”. Observou-se uma divergência de opiniões na aproximação entre bioética e educação básica entre os alunos, alguns com visões bem definidas sobre problematizações éticas na ciência outros com deformações conceituais que atrapalham o processo de aprendizagem no ensino da ciência e da educação científica.
