Resumo: | This paper is part of a master’s thesis which analyzed the Iniciativa’s pedagogical material named “Dream/Plan/Achieve, Financial Strength for Families Initiative”, The research was carried out in the Municipal Education Network of Recife, produced by Sesame Workshop in partnership with Metlife Foudation, Dsop and TV Cultura, and involved the children from early childhood education, their families and teachers. The main goals of the study were (1) to analyze the categories and themes of School Financial Education (EFE) present explicitly/implicitly in the activities of the Educator's Notebook (Caderno do Educador) and the Children's Almanac (Almanaque da Criança); (2) to categorize the activities found in these materials, according to the Skovsmose’s Learning Environments. The research is qualitative and based on documentary analysis. The theory that underlies the discussions and analyzes is Critical Mathematics Education, with a focus on Learning Environments. The results show that the themes ‘choose’, ‘plan’, ‘dream’ and ‘share’ are emphasized in the materials, what enables a reflective and supportive EFE. In relation to Learning Environments, the Educator's Notebook presents a higher frequency of activities categorized as Possible Scenarios for Investigation, based on games and interactions dialogic and reflective. The Children's Almanac, in turn, has most of its activities categorized as Exercise, with an emphasis on visual and motor skills. |
