Environmental Education and Science Teaching: waste as the generator of a teaching sequence in chemistry classes

Resumo: | Environmental education must be present in all stages of the school educational process, however, there is no proposal in the legislation as to how it should be inserted in the educational environment. Then, the possibility arises of working it in different ways, among which, through transversal environmental themes in an interdisciplinary way. Thus, the present work has an experimental nature with a quantitative and qualitative approach and exploratory objectives, being a field research with didactic research modality using didactic sequences (SD), in order to evaluate its efficiency in relating the environmental theme with chemical content in student learning. The research was carried out with a total of 33 students from the 1st year of High School, through tests with open questions and multiple choice, answered before and after the DS, respectively, with the generator theme: Garbage. The results obtained were evaluated according to the textual analysis proposed by Moraes (2003) and revealed, in principle, the students' inability to relate environmental themes to the chemical content, showing the inter / transdisciplinary in the classroom, after applying the SD they obtained significant success in their responses. SD proved to be efficient as a contribution procedure in promoting environmental education related to environmental issues. |

Surge então, a possibilidade de trabalhá-la de diversas maneiras entre as quais, através de temáticas ambientais transversais de maneira interdisciplinar. Assim, o presente trabalho possui natureza experimental com abordagem quanti-qualitativa e objetivos exploratórios, sendo uma pesquisa de campo com modalidade de pesquisa-didática utilizando-se para tanto de sequências didáticas (SD), com o objetivo de avaliar sua eficiência em relacionar a temática ambiental com os conteúdos químicos na aprendizagem dos estudantes. A pesquisa foi realizada com um total de 33 alunos do 1º ano do Ensino Médio, através de testes com questões abertas e múltipla escolha, respondidos antes e após a SD, respectivamente, com o tema gerador: Lixo. Os resultados obtidos foram avaliados segundo a análise textual proposta por Moraes (2003) e revelaram a princípio, inabilidade dos estudantes em relacionar temas ambientais com o conteúdo químico, evidenciando uma lacuna inter/transdisciplinar na sala de aula, após aplicação da SD obtiveram êxito significativo em suas respostas.
