Theater, experimentation and scientific announcement in Basic Education: a possible triad for scientific literacy

Resumo: | The development of a critical curriculum that takes into consideration the social, technological dimension of science and a considerable learning has been attracting attention late years. Such curriculum, in its turn, can be structured on propositions of scientific literacy. In this sense, this research presents an analysis of a play which has as theme a scientific question. The respective play sought to promote a dialogue among science, popular knowledge, and chemical experimentation, giving emphasis to “ripening of bananas”. So, the research was developed based on a qualitative pattern, aiming to explain the aspects of scientific literacy that were stimulated by the respective activity, and how it enabled a dialogue between science and local culture. The results showed the presence of some of the structures of scientific literacy, demonstrating that it is possible to establish ties between theater and the teaching of Chemistry, science. |

Esse currículo, por sua vez, pode ser estruturado sobre as proposições da alfabetização científica. Nesse âmbito, a presente pesquisa traz uma análise de uma peça de teatro de temática científica elaborada/apresentada por alunos da educação básica, os quais buscaram promover um diálogo entre conhecimento científico, saberes populares e experimentação Química. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida nos moldes da perspectiva qualitativa. O objetivo é explicitar quais aspectos da alfabetização científica foram favorecidos pela atividade realizada e como ela possibilitou um diálogo entre a ciência e a cultura local.
