Application of the Theory of Meaningful Learning in Differential and Integral Calculus: an analysis of publications in Mathematics Education journals

Resumo: This article presents a qualitative analysis of the bibliographic production about the application of David Ausubel's theory of Significant Learning in the Differential and Integral Calculus. The investigation was carried out in the collection of four magazines in the area of Mathematical Education, in the last five years, from 2015 to 2020. The construction of the corpus was composed by articles published in the following journals: Bolema, Zetetiké, Mathematical Education in Magazine and Revemat. Data collection and analysis were performed using discursive textual analysis There were found few publications in these journals involving the theory of Significant Learning, few publications involving the teaching and learning of Differential and Integral Calculus and no publication about the application of the theory of Significant Learning in Differential and Integral Calculus. It concludes that this theme requires a greater amount of investigations as these can collaborate to improve the teaching and learning of the contents covered in the Differential and Integral Calculus.

La investigación se llevó a cabo en la colección de cuatro revistas del campo de la Educación Matemática, en los últimos cinco años, 2015 a 2020. La construcción del corpus consistió en artículos publicados en las siguientes revistas: Bolema, Zetetiké, Educação Matemática en Revista y Revemat. La recopilación y el análisis de datos se realizaron mediante análisis textual discursivo. Se encontró en estas revistas, luego de la investigación, pocas publicaciones que involucren la teoría del Aprendizaje Significativo, pocas publicaciones que involucren la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del Cálculo Diferencial e Integral y ninguna publicación sobre la aplicación de la teoría del Aprendizaje Significativo en Cálculo Diferencial e Integral. Se concluye que este tema requiere una mayor cantidad de investigaciones ya que estas pueden colaborar para mejorar la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de los contenidos abordados en Cálculo Diferencial e Integral.Esse artigo apresenta uma análise qualitativa da produção bibliográfica sobre a aplicação da teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa de David Ausubel no Cálculo Diferencial e Integral. A investigação foi realizada no acervo de quatro revistas na área de Educação Matemática, nos últimos cinco anos, 2015 a 2020. A construção do corpus foi composta pelos artigos publicados nos seguintes periódicos: Bolema, Zetetiké, Educação Matemática em Revista e Revemat. A coleta e análise dos dados foram realizadas a partir da análise textual discursiva. Verificou-se nesses periódicos, após a investigação, poucas publicações envolvendo a teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa, poucas publicações envolvendo o ensino e aprendizagem do Cálculo Diferencial e Integral e nenhuma publicação acerca da aplicação da teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa  no Cálculo Diferencial e Integral.
