Nerdologia channel analysis: a model of edutainment on Youtube

Resumo: This study aims to analyse the Nerdologia channel on the YouTube platform and to understand its influence in the edutainment area and the online education in addition the teaching method of the channel was studied, the fact it uses elements of the nerd culture as "bait" to promote scientific dissemination. YouTube is one of the largest videos platforms in the workd, including education and science outreach. The research methodology was based on Bardin (2016) content analysis and the videos were evaluated based on a questionnaire elaborated by the authors of this study. In addition to the questionnaire, an evaluation based on observations related to the teaching method used by the Nerdologia was realised. Five videos were analysed, and as criterion was chosen the first video of each year since the channel was created to analyse the evolution of the channel over time. It was observed that Nerdologia has a methodology that approaches the student who assists it and science, thus facilitating access to scientific knowledge.

It was observed that Nerdologia has a methodology that approaches the student who assists it and science, thus facilitating access to scientific knowledge.   Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o canal Nerdologia, presente na plataforma YouTube e compreender sua influência na área do edutenimento e da educação online, além disso, estudamos o método de ensino do canal no qual utiliza elementos da cultura nerd como “isca” para realizar divulgação científica. O YouTube é uma das maiores plataformas de vídeo do mundo, inclusive na área da educação e divulgação científica. Como metodologia de pesquisa, nos baseamos na análise de conteúdo de Bardin (2016) e avaliamos os vídeos com base em um questionário criado pelo próprio autor deste estudo. Além deste questionário, realizou-se uma avaliação com observações relacionadas ao método de ensino utilizado pelo canal. Foram analisados cinco vídeos sendo que como critério foi escolhido o primeiro vídeo de cada ano desde que o Nerdologia foi criado, para também analisar a evolução do canal com o passar do tempo.
