Calculu’s tutoring and teacher development: possibilities and limitations

Resumo: This article is a fraction of a larger research, that was development in a doctoral program Science and Mathematics Education. The facet present here related to the possibilities of calculation instructor to encourage the teaching and to contribute to the formation of the future teacher. We began from the critical reading of a theoretical basis considered, and in the sequence and as we proceed to the constitution of the corpus of research with interviews the professors responsible for the monitoring. The general objective is to understand how Calculus monitoring can contribute to the formation of the future teacher to resize the observed failure and evasion scenarios. The results indicate that students seek monitoring as a possibility to get in touch with teaching and with a way to apply the theories of learning studied in the classroom. The perceptions achieved here are preliminary considerations and will be added to other elements later.

A faceta aqui apresentada está relacionada às possibilidades de a monitoria de Cálculo incentivar a docência e contribuir na formação do futuro professor. A partir de uma leitura crítica do referencial teórico considerado, na sequência avançamos para a constituição do corpus com entrevistas semiestruturadas com monitores e professores responsáveis pelas ações de monitoria. O objetivo geral consiste em compreender como a monitoria de Cálculo pode contribuir na formação do futuro professor para redimensionar os cenários de reprovação e evasão observados. Os resultados indicam que os estudantes procuram se constituir enquanto monitores como forma de entrarem em contato com a docência e também com uma forma de aplicarem as teorias de aprendizagem estudadas em sala de aula.
