A STUDY OF CONCEPTS OF THE DECIMAL NUMBERING SYSTEM BY STUDENTS OF THE 4TH YEAR OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THROUGH THE USE OF GAMES

Resumo: In the present article we present a discussion about the students' knowledge of the initial years concerning the Decimal Numbering System (SND) through activities performed with games. In order to do so, we focus on analyzing the concepts and properties that the students mobilized, having as theoretical support the theory of Registers of Semiotic Representation. The main registries analyzed are the numerical ones, the registry of the natural language, as well as own representations of the students investigated. For the development of the work we rely on the construction of a didactic sequence inspired by the principles of Didactic Engineering. As results, we found that students often work with the representation of the number in their numerical record without understanding the properties of the decimal number system.

Para tanto, nos concentramos em analisar os conceitos e propriedades que os alunos mobilizaram tendo como aporte teórico a teoria de Registros de Representação Semiótica. Os principais registros analisados são os numéricos, o registro da língua natural, bem como representações próprias dos alunos investigados. Para desenvolvimento do trabalho nos apoiamos na construção de uma sequência didática inspirada nos princípios da Engenharia Didática.
