Resumo: Sábato Magaldi, a Brazilian theater critic from Minas Gerais, played many roles in the theater, contributing extensively to the study, criticism and formation of theater. This article discusses the work of processing, inventorying and researching the Sábato Magaldi Collection, held by the UFMG Collection of Writers from Minas Gerais, and aims to discuss its processes and methodological bases. It aims to present some of the results obtained during the process of preparing, describing and inventorying his collection, as well as pointing out some reflections on the impact of this collection on theatrical historiography. To this end, it discusses the definition of a personal collection and the need for contextual practice when describing the archive.

Este artículo aborda el trabajo de procesamiento, inventario e investigación de la Colección Sábato Magaldi, conservada en la Colección de Escritores de Minas Gerais de la UFMG, y pretende discutir sus procesos y bases metodológicas. Para ello, pretende presentar algunos de los resultados obtenidos durante el proceso de procesamiento, descripción e inventario de su colección, así como apuntar algunas reflexiones sobre el impacto de esta colección en la historiografía teatral. También se discute la definición de colección personal y la necesidad de una práctica contextual a la hora de describir el archivo.O crítico teatral mineiro Sábato Magaldi desenvolveu inúmeras funções ligadas ao teatro, contribuindo extensamente com o estudo, a crítica e a formação teatrais. Este artigo aborda o trabalho de tratamento, inventariação e pesquisa no Acervo Sábato Magaldi, custodiado pelo Acervo de Escritores Mineiros da UFMG, e tem como objetivo discutir seus processos e suas bases metodológicas. Diante disso, visa a apresentar alguns resultados obtidos durante o processo de tratamento, descrição e inventariação de seu acervo, bem como aponta algumas reflexões acerca do impacto deste acervo para a historiografia teatral.
