Resumo: This work is based on field research out in the southeast of the State of Piauí and, later, in Alto Xingu (Central Brazil). Through a corpus of wrestling in rock records, possible inferences about these paintings were presented. Beyond just the look of researchers, remnants of original peoples, who engaged in ritualized wrestling, presented their own interpretations. In conclusion, if it was not possible to obtain the codes used by the ancestral groups that painted them in Serra da Capivara; to another extent, it was possible to reflect on the phenomenon that allows natives, nowadays, to interpret those records in their own way.

A través de un corpus de luchas corporales en registros rupestres, se presentaron posibles inferencias sobre estas pinturas. Más allá de la mirada de los investigadores, los remanentes de los pueblos originarios, que participaron en luchas corporales ritualizadas, presentaron sus propias interpretaciones. En conclusión, si no fue posible obtener los códigos utilizados por los grupos ancestrales que los pintaron en Serra da Capivara; en otra medida, fue posible reflexionar sobre el fenómeno que permite a los nativos, hoy en día, interpretar a su manera esos registros.Este trabalho é baseado em pesquisa de campo realizada no sudeste do Estado do Piauí e, posteriormente, no Alto Xingu (Brasil Central). Por meio de um corpus de lutas corporais nos registros rupestres, foram apresentadas possíveis inferências sobre essas pinturas. Para além apenas do olhar de pesquisadores, remanescentes de povos originários, que engajavam-se em lutas corporais ritualizadas, apresentaram suas próprias interpretações.
