Intelectual capital voluntary evidence: a study with novo mercado companies

Resumo: The study aims to investigate the elements of voluntary disclosure of Intellectual Capital (CI) extracted from Management Reports (RAs) and to identify the frequency of such disclosure. The sample includes 05 companies listed on B3 (Brazil, Bolsa, Balcão) by the Novo Mercado segment. The research is characterized by its descriptive nature, the technical procedure adopted was the documentary research and the interpretation of the ARs had a quantitative and qualitative approach. The following results were observed: 100% of the sample companies showed CI elements; elements such as Education (40%) and Distribution Channel (21.62%) were highlighted in the frequency of disclosure. The most representative category was External Capital (36%). The company JBS S.A. was the company with the highest number of IC elements disclosed (31). In the comparison made with previous researches, there was an increase in disclosure, a greater concern was identified by companies in relation to the disclosure of IC. The study reinforces the idea about the difficulty of quantifying and measuring intellectual capital and also contributed to companies taking a new stance in relation to the treatment of intellectual capital.

La muestra cuenta con 05 compañías listadas en la B3 (Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão) por el segmento Novo Mercado. La investigación se caracteriza por la naturaleza descriptiva, el procedimiento técnico adoptado fue la investigación documental y la interpretación de los RAs tuvo abordaje cuantitativo y cualitativo. Se observaron los siguientes resultados: 100% de las empresas de la muestra evidenciaron elementos de CI; elementos como Educación (40%) y Canal de Distribución (21,62%) se destacaron en términos de frecuencia de divulgación. La categoría con mayor representatividad fue Capital Externo (36%). La compañía JBS S.A. fue la empresa con mayor número de elementos de CI divulgados (31). En la comparación realizada con investigaciones anteriores, hubo aumento en la divulgación, identificando mayor preocupación por parte de las empresas en relación a la divulgación del CI. El estudio refuerza la idea sobre la dificultad de cuantificar y medir la CI y también contribuyó a que las empresas tomaran una nueva postura en relación al tratamiento de la CI.O estudo tem como objetivo investigar os elementos de evidenciação voluntária de Capital Intelectual (CI) extraídos dos Relatórios da Administração (RAs) e identificar a frequência dessa divulgação. A pesquisa se caracteriza pela natureza descritiva, o procedimento técnico adotado foi a pesquisa documental e a interpretação dos RAs teve abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. Observaram-se os seguintes resultados: 100% das empresas da amostra evidenciaram elementos de CI; elementos como Educação (40%) e Canal de Distribuição (21,62%) obtiveram destaque na frequência da divulgação. A categoria com maior representatividade foi Capital Externo (36%). A companhia JBS S.A. foi a empresa com maior número de elementos de CI divulgados (31). No comparativo feito com pesquisas anteriores, verificou-se o aumento na divulgação, identifica-se maior preocupação pelas empresas em relação à evidenciação do CI.
