Resumo: Female education in Liceus, in Rio Grande do Sul, has been developed since the 19th century, but mainly under the aegis of the State, in the early 20th century. The bibliographic and documental research sought to find relationships between female education and teaching in arts and crafts. The investigation in theses, dissertations, articles and periodicals showed the permanent mark of the curriculum aimed at training limited to the domestic horizon. Thus, in relations with literature and cinema, we perceive the maintenance of fixed patterns of behavior and female insertion, in which the issue of gender is always marked by domesticity and care for the house and children.

La investigación bibliográfica y documental buscó encontrar relaciones entre la educación femenina y la enseñanza en artes y oficios. La investigación en tesis, disertaciones, artículos y periódicos mostró la marca permanente del currículo dirigido a una formación limitada al horizonte doméstico. Así, en las relaciones con la literatura y el cine, percibimos el mantenimiento de patrones fijos de comportamiento e inserción femenina, en los que la cuestión del género está siempre marcada por la domesticidad y el cuidado de la casa y los hijos.A educação feminina em Liceus, no Rio Grande do Sul, foi desenvolvida desde o século XIX, mas principalmente sob a égide do Estado, no início do século XX. A pesquisa bibliográfica e documental buscou encontrar relações entre a formação feminina e o ensino em artes e ofícios. A investigação em teses, dissertações, artigos e jornais de época evidenciou a marca permanente do currículo voltado à formação limitada ao horizonte doméstico.
