Fashion and clothing design as a research topics: the case of articles published in the journal Educação Gráfica

Resumo: This article was developed with the objective of identifying research whose themes include the areas of fashion and clothing design from the perspective of design, using the journal Educação Gráfica as an object of study. With regard to methodology, the research is classified as quantitative-qualitative in nature, of the descriptive type, being developed through a systematic analysis of the bibliography. Regarding the technical procedures, a content analysis was carried out through thematic networks, with the help of the IRaMuTeQ® software. As results, it is evident that of the total of 53 issues and 820 articles published over the 25 years of the journal’s existence, 49 papers cover various themes of fashion and clothing design, corresponding to 5.97% of the magazine’s scope. The articles found in the aforementioned themes were grouped and subdivided into 5 categories, namely: 1) research, teaching and methodology; 2) ergonomics and anthropometry; 3) communication and visual language; 4) design, technology and management; and 5) art, craft, design and contemporary fashion. It is important to note that articles with a theme related to surface design are distributed in different categories.

En cuanto a la metodología, la investigación se clasifica como de carácter cuantitativo-cualitativo, de tipo descriptiva, siendo desarrollada a través de un análisis sistemático de la bibliografía. En cuanto a los procedimientos técnicos, se realizó un análisis de contenido a través de redes temáticas, con ayuda del software IRaMuTeQ®. Como resultados, se evidencia que del total de 53 números y 820 artículos publicados en los 25 años de existencia de la revista, 49 artículos abordan diversas temáticas de moda y diseño de vestuario, correspondiendo al 5,97% del alcance de la revista. Los artículos encontrados en los temas antes mencionados fueron agrupados y subdivididos en 5 categorías, a saber: 1) investigación, docencia y metodología; 2) ergonomía y antropometría; 3) comunicación y lenguaje visual; 4) diseño, tecnologia y gestión; y 5) arte, artesanía, diseño y moda contemporánea. Es importante señalar que los artículos con una temática relacionada con el diseño de superficies se distribuyen en diferentes categorías.O presente artigo foi desenvolvido com objetivo de identificar as pesquisas cujas temáticas contemplem a área de moda e design de vestuário pela ótica do design, utilizando como objeto de estudo o periódico Educação Gráfica. No que diz respeito à metodologia, a pesquisa se classifica enquanto de natureza quanti-qualitativa, do tipo descritiva, sendo desenvolvida por uma análise sistemática da bibliografia. Em relação aos procedimentos técnicos, realizou-se uma análise de conteúdo por meio das redes temáticas, com auxílio do software IRaMuTeQ®. Enquanto resultados, evidencia-se que do total de 53 edições e 820 artigos publicados ao longo dos 25 anos de existência do periódico, 49 trabalhos contemplam temáticas variadas da moda e design de vestuário, correspondendo a 5,97% do escopo da revista. Os artigos encontrados nas temáticas supramencionadas foram agrupados e subdivididos em 5 categorias, sendo estas: 1) pesquisa, ensino e metodologia; 2) ergonomia e antropometria; 3) comunicação e linguagem visual; 4) projeto, tecnologia e gestão; e 5) arte, artesanato, design e moda contemporânea.
