“SIR” APPROACH (SENSITIVE, IMAGINATIVE AND RATIONAL) TO APPRECIATING AN ARTWORK

Resumo: | Appreciating an artwork is a complex activity that requires the development of skills: skills to exploit one's imagination; skills to exploit one’s sensitivity; skills to examine a work of art. It also requires skills to synthesize what has been felt, imagined and examined. The article presents the “SIR” approach, a proposal for appreciating works of art according to three stages, in this order: 1) feeling and imagining; 2) examine the content elements and sociocultural elements of the artwork; 3) summarize the first two steps to establish a critical and aesthetic judgment. It is an appreciation process that can be carried out by art teachers and other educators and aims to develop sensitive, imaginative, analytical and synthetic skills. |

Il faut aussi des compétences pour synthétiser ce qui a été ressenti, imaginé et examiné. L’article présente l'approche « SIR », une proposition d'appréciation d’œuvres d’art selon trois étapes, dans cet ordre : 1) ressentir et imaginer devant l'œuvre ; 2) examiner les éléments de contenu et les éléments socioculturels de l'œuvre ; 3) résumer les deux premières étapes pour établir un jugement critique et esthétique de l'œuvre. Il s'agit d'un processus d'appréciation qui peut être mené par des professeurs d'art et d'autres éducateurs et qui vise à développer des compétences sensibles, imaginatives, analytiques et synthétiques.Apreciar uma obra é uma atividade complexa que exige o desenvolvimento de competências: competências para explorar a imaginação, competências para explorar a sensibilidade, competências para examinar uma obra e todos os seus elementos. É preciso ainda de competências para sintetizar aquilo que foi sentido, imaginado e examinado. O artigo apresenta a abordagem “SIR”, uma proposta de apreciação de obras de arte segundo três etapas, nesta ordem: 1) sentir e imaginar diante da obra; 2) examinar os elementos do conteúdo e os elementos socioculturais da obra; 3) fazer a síntese das duas primeiras etapas para estabelecer um julgamento crítico e estético da obra.
