Resumo: From four pieces in micro mosaic from the Ferreira das Neves collection of the Museu D. João VI-EBA-UFRJ, the proposal of this article approaches the analysis of the technique, of their image-form, historicity and collecting process, the identification of their origin and date, the theoretical-methodological paths involved in the research and the reflections instigated by the aesthetics of tiny things, in which the gaze is unavoidably related to proximity and detail. In this sense, we seek to present the importance of tiny things for art historical narratives and their particular aesthetic potency.

João VI-EBA-UFRJ, la propuesta de este artículo aborda el análisis de la técnica, de su imagen-forma, historicidad y su proceso de recolección, la identificación de su origen y datación, los caminos teórico-metodológicos involucrados en la investigación y las reflexiones suscitadas por la estética de las cosas diminutas, cuya mirada está ineludiblemente relacionada con la proximidad y el detalle. En este sentido, busca presentar la importancia de las cosas diminutas para las narrativas de la historia del arte y su particular potencia estética.A partir de quatro peças em micro mosaico da coleção Ferreira das Neves do Museu D. João VI-EBA-UFRJ, a proposta deste artigo aborda a análise da técnica, de sua forma-imagem, historicidade e seu processo colecionista, a identificação de sua procedência e datação, os percursos teórico-metodológicos envolvidos na pesquisa e as reflexões instigadas pela estética das coisas minúsculas, cujo olhar está incontornavelmente relacionado à proximidade e ao detalhe.
