Resumo: This is a historical and exploratory study that intends to collaborate with the existing collection on the history of fashion in Brazil, specifically addressing the origin and genesis of the São Paulo Fashion Week. In order to do so, the trajectory of articulations of important actors in this process is investigated, as well as the socio-historical conditions in which they are intricate, which will stimulate the inception of the mega fashion event in Brazil from the 1990s onwards. In this study, through from the use of bibliographic and documentary research techniques and semi-structured interviews, a chronological overview of the origin and beginning of the genesis of the biggest fashion week in Brazil was reached.

Para ello, se investiga la trayectoria de las articulaciones de actores importantes en este proceso, así como las condiciones sociohistóricas en las que se intrincan, que estimularán el nacimiento del mega evento de la moda en Brasil a partir de la década de 1990. En este estudio, a través del uso de técnicas de investigación bibliográfica y documental y de entrevistas semiestructuradas, se llegó finalmente a un panorama cronológico del origen y comienzo de la génesis de la mayor semana de la moda de Brasil.Este é um estudo de caráter histórico e exploratório que pretende colaborar com o acervo existente sobre a história da moda no Brasil, abordando, em específico, a origem e gênese da semana de moda paulistana, a São Paulo Fashion Week. Para tanto, investiga-se a trajetória de articulações de atores importantes neste processo, bem como as condições sociohistóricas em que estes estão intrincados que vão estimular o engatinhar do megaevento de moda no Brasil a partir da década de 1990.
