Pro-sustainability design in the training of women and the lack of dissemination of the fashion product in digital media

Resumo: This study presents an educational strategy developed by NGO Trama Ética Institute during the fashion course “Mãos à Ecomoda”, held between October and December 2021 in the city of Florianópolis/SC. It aims to highlight the training of women focused on pro-sustainability design and how the educational process can be linked to the contribution of the digital environment of social networks. The theoretical framework used in the approach of the object included bibliographical research on the topics upcycling, circularity in the production and consumption chain, ethical fashion, sustainable fashion and digital media. Because it is an applied research, reports were used as support to describe the activities developed during the project, and content analysis as a resource to deal with the collected reports. The main results pointed to a good acceptance of the pro-sustainability theme in fashion among the participants of this course, as well as the relevance of investments in extension projects focused on the theme of sustainability, being a tool for reducing social and environmental impacts caused by the fashion sector. Finally, the final considerations reveal a distancing of the community observed in relation to digital technologies, signaling social and informational inequalities.

Tiene como objetivo evidenciar la formación de mujeres volcada para el diseño pro-sustentabilidad y cómo el proceso educativo puede estar vinculado al aporte del ambiente digital de las redes sociales. El referencial teórico empleado en el abordaje del objeto contó con investigación bibliográfica sobre los temas upcycling, circularidad en la cadena de producción y consumo, moda ética, moda sostenible y medios digitales. Por tratarse de una investigación aplicada, se utilizó de informes como soporte para describir las actividades desarrolladas durante el proyecto, y el análisis de contenido como recurso para tratar de los relatos recolectados. Los principales resultados apuntaron a una buena aceptación de la temática pro-sustentabilidad en la moda entre las participantes de dicho curso, así como la relevancia de inversiones en proyectos de extensión centrados en la temática de la sostenibilidad, siendo una herramienta para la reducción de impactos socioambientales causados por el sector de la moda. Finalmente, las consideraciones finales revelan un distanciamiento de la comunidad observada en relación a las tecnologías digitales, señalando desigualdades sociales e informacionales. Neste estudo apresenta-se uma estratégia educativa desenvolvida pela ONG Instituto Trama Ética durante o curso de moda “Mãos à Ecomoda”, realizado entre outubro e dezembro de 2021 na cidade de Florianópolis/SC. Tem como objetivo evidenciar a formação de mulheres voltada para o design pró-sustentabilidade e como o processo educacional pode estar atrelado ao aporte do ambiente digital das redes sociais. O referencial teórico empregado na abordagem do objeto contou com pesquisa bibliográfica sobre os temas upcycling, circularidade na cadeia de produção e consumo, moda ética, moda sustentável e mídias digitais. Por se tratar de uma pesquisa aplicada, utilizou-se de relatórios como suporte para descrever as atividades desenvolvidas durante o projeto, e da análise de conteúdo como recurso para tratar dos relatos coletados. Os principais resultados apontaram para uma boa aceitação da temática pró-sustentabilidade na moda entre as participantes do referido curso, bem como a relevância de investimentos em projetos de extensão voltados a temática da sustentabilidade, sendo uma ferramenta para a redução de impactos socioambientais causados pelo setor de moda.
