Socio-environmental system for the revaluation of textile waste: history of development of a Textile Waste Bank

Resumo: This article aims to present the development process of a socio-environmental system for the revaluation of textile waste based on Circular Economy, Reverse Logistics and Design for Sustainability. The System, called Textile Waste Bank - BRT, is currently being implemented in a cooperative of collectors of recyclable materials in Londrina - Paraná and was idealized by the DeSIn group (Design, Sustainability and Innovation) of the State University of Londrina in the period from 2017 to 2022. Its objective is to manage industrial and post-consumer textile waste in the region, combining the offer of products and services in its operation. The methodologies used during its development were Case Study, Design Science Research and Action Design Research. The results integrate the contributions of the different research stages and are presented chronologically, allowing the development of systems such as BRT to be replicated by other institutions in other regions of the country.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar el proceso de desarrollo de un sistema socioambiental para la revalorización de residuos textiles basado en Economía Circular, Logística Inversa y Diseño para la Sostenibilidad. El Sistema, denominado Banco de Residuos Textiles - BRT, se está implementando actualmente en una cooperativa de recolectores de materiales reciclables en Londrina - Paraná y fue idealizado por el grupo DeSIn (Diseño, Sustentabilidad e Innovación) de la Universidad Estadual de Londrina en el período de 2017 a 2022. Su objetivo es gestionar los residuos textiles industriales y posconsumo en la región, combinando la oferta de productos y servicios en su operación. Las metodologías utilizadas durante su desarrollo fueron Estudio de Caso, Investigación en Ciencias del Diseño e Investigación en Diseño de Acción. Los resultados integran los aportes de las diferentes etapas de investigación y se presentan cronológicamente, permitiendo que el desarrollo de sistemas como BRT sea replicado por otras instituciones en otras regiones del país. O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar o processo de desenvolvimento de um sistema socioambiental de revalorização de resíduos têxteis com base em Economia Circular, Logística Reversa e Design para Sustentabilidade. O Sistema, denominado Banco de Resíduos Têxteis ̶ BRT, atualmente em fase de implementação em uma cooperativa de catadores de materiais recicláveis em Londrina (PR) e foi idealizado pelo grupo DeSIn (Design, Sustentabilidade e Inovação) da Universidade Estadual de Londrina no período de 2017 a 2022. Seu objetivo é realizar a gestão dos descartes têxteis industriais e pós-consumo da região, combinando a oferta de produtos e serviços em seu funcionamento. As metodologias utilizadas em seu desenvolvimento foram Estudo de Caso, Design Science Research e a Action Design Research. Os resultados integram as contribuições das diferentes etapas de pesquisa e são apresentados cronologicamente neste artigo, possibilitando que o desenvolvimento de sistemas, como BRT, possam ser replicados em outros contextos, instituições e regiões do país.
