Descruzamento de mordida posterior em paciente infantil. um enfoque clínico

Resumo: The posterior crossbite is an abnormal positioning between the posterior teeth in which there is a majority of canine, premolar and molar regions, where the buccal clusters of the upper teeth are present, and may be present in the various phases of the dentition, including the mixed dentition.. This article aims to present a clinical case of posterior crossbite of dental and functional origin, deonstrating success in interceptive orthodontics in the uncrossing of the posterior bite through the removable orthodontic appliance with maxillary dilatation lathe. At the intra-oral clinical examination it was verified that the patient had the right posterior crossbite, mandibular deviation and the inferior midline to the same side. From the clinical, radiographic and model analysis and cephalometric analyzes, a treatment plan was determined where the removable device was chosen with retention clamps, vestibular arch and expander. After seven months of weekly activations, correction of the posterior crossbite was verified. The clinical case showed great success with the correction of the malocclusion of the crossbite, midline and mandibular deviation, in a short period of time. The containment phase lasted about three months, resulting in good facial and dental harmony at the end of treatment, with the posterior bite being uncrossed

O presente artigo tem objetivo de expor um caso clínico de mordida cruzada posterior de origem dentária e funcional, demonstrando sucesso na ortodontia interceptativa no descruzamento da mordida posterior através do aparelho ortodôntico removível com torno expansor de maxila. Ao exame clinico intrabucal verificou-se que a paciente apresentava a mordida cruzada posterior direita, desvio mandíbular e da linha média inferior para o mesmo lado. A partir dos exames clínicos, radiográficos e análises de modelos e cefalométrica foi determinado o plano de tratamento onde optou-se pelo aparelho removível com grampos de retenção, arco vestibular e torno expansor. Após sete meses de ativações semanais, verificou-se a correção da mordida cruzada posterior. O caso clinico demonstrou amplo sucesso com a correção da maloclusão da mordida cruzada, linha média e desvio mandibular, em curto espaço de tempo.
