With the launch of the Zero Hunger Program - PFZ by President Lula, it was observed that was placed on the national agenda to fight to eradicate hunger andpoverty as an imperative for every society, given that the subject involved inmanymoments of Brazilian history was banned and / or put out of existence. In order to promote substantial changes in 2003 created the Ministry of Food Security - MESA,which was later transformed into the Ministry of Social Developmentand Fight against Hunger - MDS, which through the National Secretariat for Food Security and Nutrition - SESAN and other departments, is responsible for the coordination and operation of policies and programs for food security andnutrition - SAN. In this context emerged the programs Restaurants, Community Kitchens and Food Bankas a strategy of creating a network of public facilities food service to ensure the human right to adequate food - for all DHAA (as). Itis emphasized that the object of this article permeates a program embraced by MDS, belonging to the axis of the local policies of PFZ. That object is the popular restaurant - PR Maracanaú, belonging to the municipal food and nutritional security of the municipality.
