Transparency is a principle to be respected by all government branches, but the normative, evaluative, and academic production has given special importance to the Executive Branch, with focus on tax and financial management. Such reality overshadows the relevance of observing how transparency occurs within the branch that has the primary function of legislating and auditing the actions of the Executive. It is precisely due to this absence that the option to research the particularities of the Legislative Branch, based on the case of the Legislative Assembly of Ceará (ALECE) was conceived. The objective is to analyze ALECE's practices for providing information about its most typical function: legislative activity. The research is qualitative in nature, and both review of literature and documentary research were used for data collection, as well as the observation of two electronic sites: ALECE's official site and its Transparency Portal. For data analysis, the Transparency Index of Legislative Portals (ITpL) was used as a reference. It was observed that ALECE, despite having a regulatory framework that meets the legal requirements, presents low transparency in its main channel, the Transparency Portal.
