Functioning of Power Devices in the Media and Education: An Enunciative Series of Chaos?

Resumo: The present study aims to reflect on the enunciative series that has shaped a narrative of chaos around Brazilian education over the years. In particular, we take as a temporal cutting the materialities uttered in the Mainstream and Alternative Media, after President Jair Bolsonaro’s inauguration (January to May 2019). Thus, through an exploratory interpretative research, we propose to analyze a set of enunciative series and to observe how a device or several power devices act on discursive materiality in a given time period and space. This discursive game was glimpsed in the light of categorizations proposed by Foucault (2006) deepened by Deleuze (1996) in understanding the functioning of this device (GREGOLIN, 2015, 2016). As a result, we conclude that the media perpetuate power narratives by associating themselves with political discourse, making room for certain sayings.

Em especial, tomamos como recorte temporal as materialidades proferidas na Grande Mídia e pela Mídia Alternativa após a posse do presidente Jair Bolsonaro (janeiro a maio de 2019). Assim sendo, através de uma pesquisa exploratória de base interpretativista, propomos analisar um conjunto de séries enunciativas e visualizar como um dispositivo ou vários dispositivos de poder atuam na materialidade discursiva em um dado tempo e espaço. Esse jogo discursivo foi vislumbrado à luz das categorizações propostas por Foucault (2006) e aprofundadas por Deleuze (1996) ao entender o funcionamento desse dispositivo (GREGOLIN, 2015, 2016).
