Resumo: The theme that permeates the issue of the article proposed here is the social, professional and artistic trajectory of teacher Elvira Eugênia Correia Pinho (1860-1946). It is about understanding how a single woman managed to lead and lead such significant struggles in the state of Ceará, in two distinct political periods, Empire and Republic, in the city of Fortaleza, capital of Ceará. Under a historiographical look in educational research, the work presented intends to investigate the trajectory of this character's performance, as we consider it of great importance to record the history and memory of education in Ceará. This is because she is an educator, whose performance went beyond the walls of schools and formal educational practices, as she participated in other cultural and social activities that were remarkable at the time. Therefore, the research is justified by the historiographical scope, it is associated by the history of life with hermeneutics, whose proposed periodization is the period from 1886 to 1946, which comprises the performance of Elvira Pinho in her trajectory as a student, teacher, director and activist, in non-formal and formal educational settings. With this quick investigation, we believe it is possible to identify the different elements that permeate not only Elvira Pinho's life trajectory, but also the context of the time.

Trata-se de compreender como uma mulher sozinha conseguiu liderar e encabeçar lutas tão significativas no estado do Ceará, em dois períodos políticos distintos, Império e República, na cidade de Fortaleza, capital do Ceará. Sob um olhar historiográfico em pesquisa educacional o trabalho apresentado pretende investigar acerca da trajetória de atuação dessa personagem, pois consideramos de grande importância para o registro da história e da memória da educação cearense. Isso porque se trata de uma educadora, cuja atuação extrapolou os muros das escolas e das práticas educativas formais, já que participou de outras atividades culturais e sociais marcantes a época. Portanto, a pesquisa justifica-se pelo âmbito historiográfico, associa-se pela história de vida à hermenêutica, cuja periodização proposta é o período de 1886 a 1946 que compreende a atuação de Elvira Pinho na sua trajetória de aluna, professora, diretora e ativista, em locais não formais e formais de ensino.
