Resumo: This article aims to reconstruct the historical course of school education, in the Remaining Community of Quilombo-CRQ Brejão dos Aipins, until the construction of the Filomena Nunes Rural School. This community is located in Redenção do Gurgueia, in the state of Piauí. As a problematization, we ask: How and when did the school reach the community? The methodology used was a bibliographical approach, having as primary source the studies by Vogado (2014) and Nunes (2018). The investigation is justified by the possibility of knowing different aspects of historical materiality, as well as revealing facts, using the memory of the individuals participating in the period prior to the construction of the Filomena Nunes Rural School in the community. Retracing this path allowed the younger people to be exposed to the remarkable trajectory of formal education, up to the construction of the first school in the Brejão dos Aipins community, Piauí.

Comunidade essa, que está localizada em Redenção do Gurgueia, no estado do Piauí. Como problematização questionamos: Como e quando chegou a escola na comunidade? A metodologia utilizada foi uma abordagem bibliográfica, tendo como fonte primária os estudos de Vogado (2014) e Nunes (2018). A investigação justifica-se pela possibilidade de conhecer diferentes aspectos da materialidade histórica, bem como revelar fatos, recorrendo a memória dos indivíduos partícipes do período que antecede a construção da Escola Rural Filomena Nunes na comunidade.
