Resumo: This article aims to analyze the relationship between agrarian conflicts and rural education, focusing on social struggle as one of the pedagogical matrices of rural schools in Ceará. A bibliographical research was carried out seeking to understand the history of conflicts and violence in the Brazilian countryside, in addition to analyzing the social struggle as one of the pedagogical matrices that underlie the concept of education developed by the Landless Rural Workers Movement - MST. This study is part of a research funded by FUNCAP/UECE that aims to analyze the processes of teacher training in rural schools in Ceará. It was concluded that the social struggle guides rural education, as it is not possible to understand the peasant reality detached from its development context and the struggles fought for its realization of the right to land and education.

Realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica buscando compreender a história dos conflitos e violências no campo brasileiro, além de analisar a luta social como uma das matrizes pedagógicas que fundamentam a concepção de educação desenvolvida pelo Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra- MST. Este estudo se integra a uma pesquisa financiada pela FUNCAP/UECE que objetiva analisar os processos de formação de professores das escolas do campo do Ceará.
