Resumo: The aim of this article is to biography the educator Geraldo do Nascimento Carvalho, born in 1958, in the Barrocas community, rural area of ​​the municipality of Piracuruca, 208 km from the capital of Piauiense. In the studies carried out in the Study Group “Educators Biography (GEBE), of the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), a concern arose about: Who is the educator Geraldo do Nascimento Carvalho? As for the methodological aspect, we used the methodology of oral history and biographical analysis, starting from the research instrument applied, an interview, in 2021, to the subject, through the Google Meet platform. The motivation for choosing this educator was his political, social and educational representation in the context of the CAFS/UFPI Pedagogy Course. His memories are fundamental for understanding the history of public Higher Education in Floriano. The survey results point to the importance of education for this educator, who consequently had his life changed by it.

Nos estudos realizados no Grupo de Estudo “Biografia de Educadores(as) (GEBE), da Universidade Federal do Piauí (UFPI), surgiu uma inquietação sobre: Quem é o educador Geraldo do Nascimento Carvalho? Quanto ao aspecto metodológico, utilizamos a metodologia da história oral e a análise biográfica, partindo do instrumental de pesquisa aplicado, uma entrevista, no ano de 2021 ao biografado, através da plataforma Google Meet. A motivação para à escolha deste educador, foi à sua representatividade política, social e educacional no contexto do Curso de Pedagogia do CAFS/UFPI. Suas memórias são fundamentais para compreensão da história do Ensino Superior público de Floriano.
