Interpretations of the “Album of Memories” of the School Group José Correia

Resumo: The objective of this investigation is to develop interpretive analyses of the “Album of Memories” of the School Group Tenente Coronel José Correia. It was organized by the institution's managers in the year of 1995, and it brings together several photographs, newspaper clippings and writings that reveal historical-institutional elements, as well as data on the performance of principals and teachers. We explore the historical source in a dialogue with authors such as Ginzburg (1989), Kossoy (2002), Chartier (1991) and Mogarro (2006), that help us in the evidentiary work, along with the problematizations ranging from the materiality aspects of the document, to understanding the social and historiographical uses of school photographs. The material has a singular exploratory potential and it has decisively contributed to the construction of interpretations about the specificities of this centenary school. With this research, we aim to contribute to the field of History of Education, especially regarding the work with documentary sources that are produced and originated from school collections

Organizado por gestoras da instituição no ano de 1995, agrega fotografias diversas, recortes de jornais e escritos que revelam elementos histórico-institucionais, bem como dados sobre a atuação de diretores(as) e professores(as). Exploramos a fonte histórica no diálogo com autores como Ginzburg (1989), Kossoy (2002), Chartier (1991) e Mogarro (2006), que nos auxiliam no trabalho indiciário, junto às problematizações que vão desde os aspectos de materialidade do documento, até a compreensão dos usos sociais e historiográficos das fotografias escolares. O material possui potencial exploratório singular e contribuiu de modo decisivo para a construção de interpretações acerca das especificidades da referida escola centenária.
