Resumo: | This article studies the role of the Campaign for Improvement and Dissemination of Secondary Education (CADES), in the state of Ceará, in the 1950-1960 decades, created based on Decree n° 34.638, of November 14, 1953, during the government of President Getúlio Vargas (1951-1954). This campaign promoted specialization and improvement courses and internships, for secondary school teachers, as well as formative actions aimed at the school management team. Moreover, it organized and published works dealing with experiences and pedagogical themes related to secondary education. Considering the existence of works in the field of History of Education that concern the role of CADES, at national and a few states levels, the number of researches on the subject is still small. This article intended to carry out an exploratory research seeking data on the role of CADES in Ceará, punctuating the essentiality of Oral History, as a methodological reference for the development of new studies on the History of Education. |

Esta Campanha promoveu cursos e estágios de especialização e aperfeiçoamento, para professores do ensino secundário, bem como ações formativas direcionadas à equipe de gestão das escolas. Organizou e publicou, também, trabalhos abordando experiências e temas pedagógicos referentes ao ensino secundário. Considerando a existência de trabalhos na História da Educação que abordam o papel da CADES, em nível nacional e local, há ainda um número pequeno de pesquisas sobre a temática.
