Resumo: The objective of this work is to promote teaching methodologies that encourage students to seek a profession in the scientific area. In this way, we made available to the 2nd grade students of a public school in São Manuel/SP an article by researcher Benite “A view of medicinal bioinorganic chemistry” for reading and analysis. After reading, we held a conversation circle with the students to find out what skills the woman who wrote the text had mastered, if the knowledge presented was related only to the male sex and how the teaching of Science is presented to the students (Laws and theories). The results of the analysis were useful, as the girls were able to externalize how much the male figure is favored in textbooks, handouts and research sites that deal with knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. They also realized the need for a greater female presence in this context of study and profession.

They also realized the need for a greater female presence in this context of study and profession.  O objetivo deste trabalho é promover metodologias de ensino que estimulem as estudantes a buscarem uma profissão na área científica. Dessa maneira, disponibilizamos para as alunas das 2ª Séries de uma escola pública de São Manuel/SP um artigo da pesquisadora Benite “Uma visão da química bioinorgânica medicinal” para leitura e análise. Após a leitura realizamos uma roda de conversa com as alunas para saber que habilidades a mulher que escreveu o texto apresentou domínio, se os conhecimentos apresentados eram relativos, apenas, ao sexo masculino e como o ensino de Ciências é apresentado aos discentes (Leis e teorias). Os resultados da análise foram proveitosos, pois as meninas conseguiram exteriorizar o quanto a figura masculina é favorecida nos livros didáticos, apostilas e sites de pesquisa que tratam de saberes da Física, Química e Biologia.
