Resumo: The Psychopedagogical Student Support Program is, mainly, a psychological assistance service offered to medical students at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to psychoanalytic-based clinical care, the program develops activities and projects aimed at promoting an interdisciplinary and humanized medical education. One of the projects focuses on integrate students into the Pediatric Ward of the University Hospital with the singular purpose of expanding contact with patients by valuing dialogue and establishing social bonds. The term “extension” is contemplated in this proposal both in the university sense and in terms of “extension psychoanalysis”, as it seeks to make it present in the academic sphere by highlighting subjectivity to the detriment of an eminently biologizing perspective. Thus, this article proposes to examine the data produced in the supervision of students, material that highlights the malaise found in medical training.

Além de atendimentos clínicos de base psicanalítica, o programa desenvolve atividades e projetos que se destinam à promoção de uma formação médica interdisciplinar e humanizada. Um dos projetos objetiva a integração dos alunos à Enfermaria Pediátrica do Hospital Universitário com o propósito singular de ampliar o contato com os pacientes através da valorização do diálogo e do estabelecimento de laços sociais.  O termo “extensão” é contemplado nessa proposta tanto no sentido universitário quanto no que se refere à “psicanálise em extensão”, pois diligencia sua presentificação no âmbito acadêmico ao destacar a subjetividade em detrimento de uma perspectiva eminentemente biologizante.
