Resumo: This article seeks to analyze the university extension work of the GESP (São Pedro/SP Extension Group), from ESALQ/USP. The rural extension and technical assistance activities of this group began in 1989 with family farmers from Alto da serra in the municipality of São Pedro/SP. The positive externalities of this work of thirty-three years of history have impacted the development of the territory, in the areas of health, education, economy, food security and environmental protection. In this sense, the actions of the GESP, based on university extension, are associated with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations in Brazil.

As externalidades positivas deste trabalho de trinta e três anos de história têm impactado o desenvolvimento do território, nos âmbitos da saúde, educação, economia, segurança alimentar e da proteção ambiental.
