Resumo: This paper reports on a research project for a master's degree. It analyzes the diversity of contemporary graffiti practices in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The study focuses on two key dimensions: on the one hand, the graffiti and its commercial outcomes; and on the other, the current legislation about street art in Brazil. We highlight part of the research sample to support a classification method on the variety of graffiti practices, with respect to the national legislation.
