Transmission of Ceramic Know-how by Master Craftsman:: a strategic action for cultural sustainability for the Ceramics of Cabo

The article describes the development process and implementation of the cultural project "Ceramics in Schools: Knowledge Transfer Workshop in Cabo de Santo Agostinho", whose objective was to transfer knowledge about the production of red ceramics to its own community through different modeling practices taught by master ceramists. The action, guided by the premises of sustainability in social, cultural, economic and productive terms, and at the same time understanding the craft center of the architect Wilson Campos Júnior as a creative community, made 50 young people between the ages of 12 and 16 aware of the importance and valorization of traditional crafts in the community and broadened the perspectives for the training of new generations of ceramicists through the transmission of knowledge about ceramic practices to students of the municipal school Professor Jason Brandão. This action highlights the importance of research, teaching and training, as well as partnerships between the municipality, the university and the community.
