Resumo: | Boron and calcium are related to many physiological processes of the plant, which are affected by its deficiency, such as sugar transport, synthesis and cell wall structure, carbohydrate metabolism and plasma membrane integrity. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of boron and calcium application via leaf and soil on the yield components in silage quality and content of macronutrients in leaves of sunflower. The experiment was conducted at Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná – UTFPR, Campus Dois Vizinhos, from September 2008 to April 2009, in a randomized block design with four replications, using the genotype Agrobel - La Tijereta. Morphological characteristics of the plants, the yield components (grain yield and weight of hundred grains), silage quality and content of nutrient uptake were evaluated. The sunflower crop did not respond to application of boron and calcium, to effects on yield components in silage quality and content of nutrients absorbed by plants. However, it was found increases in the partition dry grain and plant height. |

However, it was found increases in the partition dry grain and plant height.O boro e o cálcio relacionam-se com muitos processos fisiológicos da planta, os quais são afetados pela sua deficiência, como o transporte de açúcares, síntese e estrutura da parede celular, metabolismo de carboidratos e integridade da membrana plasmática. Objetivou-se com esse trabalho avaliar a eficiência da aplicação de boro e cálcio via foliar e via solo nos componentes de rendimento, na qualidade da silagem e teores de macronutrientes foliares na cultura do girassol. O experimento foi conduzido na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, Câmpus Dois Vizinhos, no período de setembro de 2008 a abril de 2009, com delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições, usando o genótipo Agrobel - La Tijereta. Os tratamentos consistiram-se em aplicações no solo e pulverizações foliares de cálcio e boro. Foram avaliadas características morfológicas das plantas, componentes do rendimento (produtividade de grãos e massa de cem grãos), qualidade de silagem e teor de nutrientes acumulados. A cultura do girassol não respondeu a aplicação de boro e cálcio, para efeitos nos componentes de rendimento, na qualidade da silagem e no teor de nutrientes absorvidos pelas plantas.
