Resumo: 21 pig farms of southwest Paraná were observed during summer and winter period 1991 and determined through bacteriology, virology and parasitology assays the causal agents and their combination on pre-weaning diarrhoea occurrence. The most affected piglets age groups were 8 to 14 days and 15 to 21 days old. The combination of two or more pathogenic agents were observed in 34 and 50% of the cases, in the summer and winter period respectively. The E. coli alone and its combination with rotavirus were the most frequently isolated pathogens. 45,6% of diarrhoeal feces samples were positive for rotavirus. The most frequent group belonged to group A.
