Resumo: The article deals with the saga of installing kiosks in the city of São Paulo in the 1880s until their extinction, due to the urban reforms occurred in the 1910s, analysing this object and its links with the influences of urban furniture and parisian Haussmannian reforms upon the Brazilian cities, as well as the way that they were reappropriated in that city, according to local conditions.
