Resumo: | In this article I discuss the republican exile and the Spanish civil war from the viewpoint of the Historia Mexicana magazine, founded in 1951 and related to El Colegio de México. I argue that the path and a peculiar process of institutional transition that triggered the foundation of the magazine are intimately associated to the history of the Spanish exile in Mexico, and to the repositioning of the republican intellectual refugees in that country. I point out the importance of the publication on the development of a deeper historical knowledge on both themes, and, above all, I argue that Historia Mexicana has established itself as part of an intellectual net that favours the widening and the density of the communication among authors. The magazine also contributes to accentuate the mode in which the historiographic discourse is defined regarding advancements or continuations in the empirical labour in its relation to specific objects of research. |
