Resumo: This article analyzes the disputes and the political context surrounding the 1933 election campaign in Rio Grande do Sul, the first election since the revolutions of 1930 and 1932. We seek to understand the new regional political landscape, with exile and conspiracies of the opposition matches, associate in United Front Gaucho, and the new party founded by Getúlio Vargas, Flores da Cunha and Oswaldo Aranha, the Liberal Republican Party, which used different practices to cancel, politically, the Frente Única Gaúcha (FUG), with fraud, coercion and repression.
