Resumo: The decade of 1870 is very important for the social history of science, since it was the moment at which the positivist philosophy held fast in the Mexican culture through the secondary instruction in the classrooms of the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria; and in these years it was carried out under the reorganization of the scientific community through liberal presidents. In this decade the infantile literary magazines played an outstanding role in the spreading of the scientific knowledge, like the geographical one, and the territorial representation of the country, thanks to the support that these governments offered to take science to all the social groups. The children of high and middle classes had to their disposition a diversity of infantile magazines that, between the different knowledge that was put to their reach, there was the scientific geography. Several of these children were the men who built the medical institutions of the last third of century XIX, and occupied key positions in scientific and educative institutions, besides governmental positions.
