Resumo: In this paper I present a fragment of history of Catalan family linked to America insisting on his development on the bosom of a culture well determined of ends of the 18th century and beginning of the following century. The context was the break of the relations between Spain and America as consequence of the process of independences in continental territory. I have delimited to an community, of a settlement, of a villa, to find in them and in his alleys the answer to the silences that the familiar intimacy has imposed on the documentary sources. It is a question of a concrete, punctual approximation, but that it allows to perceive the game of most of the strategies that had to hand some families incipientemente bourgeois of the catalan coast.

El contexto fue la ruptura de las relaciones entre España y América como consecuencia del proceso de independencias en territorio continental. Me reduzco a los límites de una comunidad, de un poblado, de una villa, para encontrar en ellos y en sus callejuelas las respuestas a los silencios que la intimidad familiar impuso a las fuentes documentales. Se trata de una aproximación concreta, puntual, pero que permite percibir el juego de la mayor parte de las estrategias que tenían a mano algunas familias incipientemente burguesas de la costa catalana.Neste artigo apresento um fragmento da história da família catalã ligada à América, insistindo em seu desenvolvimento dentro de uma cultura bem definida no final do século XVIII e início do século seguinte. O contexto foi a ruptura das relações entre Espanha e América como resultado do processo de independência em território continental. Reduzo-me aos limites de uma comunidade, de uma cidade, de uma cidade, para encontrar nelas e em seus becos as respostas aos silêncios que a intimidade familiar impôs às fontes documentais.
