Resumo: Objective: to identify how topics related to workers’ health are included in the continuing education strategies among nursing workers in a secondary care center, in the city of Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. Method: cross-sectional, non-experimental, descriptive, and qualitative study. The study setting was a health center focused on Secondary Care, in the form of a polyclinic. A total of nineteen nurses participated in the study and data was collected from March to April 2020 using an electronic form. Data analysis was based on descriptive statistics and graphical interpretation generated by the data collection platform named Survey Monkey. Results: professionals do not see themselves as producers of knowledge on workers’ health, perceiving this as a specialized area. In addition, health promotion actions were not indicated, as necessary. Activities were restricted to prevention activities, especially related to risk management. Strategies associated with Health Continuing Education (HCE) such as conversation circles were observed as the methodological choice for educational activities. Conclusion: there is an emerging need to create educational spaces and activities addressing workers’ health from the perspective of HCE, providing a space for sharing experiences and knowledge and encouraging health promotion activities as much as prevention actions, which are already present in the theoretical paradigm of occupational health.

Participaram do estudo 19 enfermeiros. Universidade Estadual de Londrina2020-12-10info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfapplication/pdfhttps://ojs.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/article/view/4136010.5433/anh.2020v2.id41360Advances in Nursing and Health; Vol. 2 (2020): ADVANCES IN NURSING AND HEALTHAdvances in Nursing and Health; Vol. 2 (2020): ADVANCES IN NURSING AND HEALTHAdvances in Nursing and Health; v. 2 (2020): ADVANCES IN NURSING AND HEALTH2675-1798reponame:Advances in Nursing and Healthinstname:Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL)instacron:UELporenghttps://ojs.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/article/view/41360/28584https://ojs.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/article/view/41360/28585Copyright (c) 2020 Advances in Nursing and Healthhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVeiga, Nathalia HenriquesTen, Yan Zi LiFaria, Magda Guimarães de AraujoFerrão, Carla Tatiana Garcia BarretoGallasch, Cristiane Helena2022-10-19T17:36:13Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/41360Revistahttps://www.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/indexPUBhttps://www.uel.br/revistas/uel/index.php/anh/oaianh@uel.br2675-17982675-1798opendoar:2023-01-13T10:35:00.777286Advances in Nursing and Health - Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL)false
