Resumo: Historically, the violation of indigenous rights is practiced with the argument of an irremediable purpose for the achievement of national economic progress. The resistance of the native peoples against the oppression of the interests of the Brazilian State was for certain period replied, especially, through territorial remotions and extermination. In this context, the present work has as its objective introduce some reflections about the indigenist political actions of the Brazilian State, in order to enable understandings/ discussions about the recent land conflicts and for recognition involving the Kaingang in the north of Rio Grande do Sul.

A resistência dos povos originários à opressão dos interesses do Estado brasileiro foi por certo período respondida, sobretudo, mediante remoções territoriais e extermínios.
