Resumo: This text intends to show the pertinence and contribution of the hegemony theory to explain the emergence and development of an agrarian social movement that happened in Cordoba, Argentina, in 1997, in a context in which the efficiency and rationality ideas are characteristic of the dominant discourse. lt deals with how the several present interests are articulated and in what ways they reach a common sense.
