Resumo: The article analyzes the complex system of alien detention in Italy and the intersection between the humanitarian logic and the logic of confinement. The aim of this study is to highlight how Italian immigration legislation, based on the security paradigm and the systematic declarations of the emergency, has fomented various anomalies regarding public reception and detention policies, with grave consequences for people in its interior.
