Resumo: The present work aims to present how the question of power is treated by Michel Foucault from his book Vigiar e Punir and, according to his critics, refer to its second and third phases, summarized below. His own name, as an intellectual, is associated with the analysis of transgression and his theory is permeated by the notion of crisis as a result of the radical hostility he showed towards the existing order through his works, leaving us, when he died, in 1984, the weight of his pessimistic relativism.
