Resumo: In this paper, our purpose is to investigate the relative frequency in the covariation between the pronoun used and the objective relationship that exists between speaker and addressee. Except for the plays pertaining to the XV century, all plays exhibit the three pronominal forms of address, tú, ros and usted (including the various intermediate stages of this pronoun). Within a diachronic perspective this work will analyse the semantic and social psychological correspondences of these pronouns of address in 96 plays which extend from the XV to the XIX centuries.
