Resumo: The focus of the ongoing doctoral research is the housing context of the ilha Herculano Neighbourhood located in the city center of Porto (Portugal). It’s intended to reflect on audiovisual methodologies, such as participatory video and photo-elicitation, as forms of strategies to research and analyse the social context of residence, the housing conditions of this community, and the modes of participation and empowerment that these methodologies can initiate.
