Resumo: | In this article, we debate advances and theoretical tensions on the notion of environmental and imaginary photojournalism based on corn. We studied photographs by Robert Frank taken in the Peruvian Amazon in the 1940s, using symbolic reading, a theoretical-methodological construction proposed by Ana Taís Martins aligned with the postulates of Gilbert Durand's General Theory of the Imaginary, which considers the researcher's immersive experience in the study material as a basis later complemented by cross-referencing with contextual data extracted from observation and/or documents. We conclude that the enchantment between subject and nature constitutes a possible transformation of consciousness and the establishment of activism, so that the political struggle would be more effective if carried out considering the symbolic experience. |
