Resumo: This paper proposes a reflection about the production of caustic humor in political cartoons. The caustic humor is treated as a language movement that is observed in the general genre style. We try to analyze in the discourse some aspects of the emotional attitudes that reveal a social observer inside the cultural context. The study is based on Mikhail Bakhtin’s concepts of discursive genre and presents some discussions of Greimas and Fontanille on trajectories of the emotion.
