The social place of reading: critical analysis of a journalistic chronicle

Resumo: The aims of this paper is to analyze the construction of social representation keeper cars on a journalistic chronicle conveyed by the newspaper A Gazeta, according theoretical and methodological apparatus of Critical Discourse Studies (CDS), by van Dijk (2003, 2010), and studies of literacy by Kleiman (2008), Martins (2004) and Gnerre (1991). We assume that the journalistic text, constructed from the strategy of global polarization and lexical choices operates on dissemination of an ideology “grafocêntrica” in our society. The analysis results show that the journalistic chronicle, as ideological and discursive practice, acts in the reproduction of ideologies of symbolic elites, leading to a common belief that with time it naturalizes and becomes a hegemonic truth about the place of the reading in our society.

Partimos do pressuposto de que o texto jornalístico, construído a partir da estratégia de polarização global e das escolhas lexicais atua na reprodução e disseminação de uma ideologia grafocêntrica em nossa sociedade.
